... right I'm taking my 2 year old on a drive which is about 220 miles. I know she will get bored in the back on her own, so was thinking about putting her in the front. Her car seat is a front facing one, will there be a problem with the air bag?Cheers. Banksey. |

*cough* I no longer have a 6. I'm not sure if I can turn the airbag off or not... so I'm guessing its not 'safe' to have her in the front. Thinking about it, the front sounds safer with an airbag where as the back they don't? |

as far as im aware, a forward facing seat is fine with the airbag still onits only an issue with rear facing baby seats i have a rallye now so i dont have the issue, but my phase 3 meridian is switchable (i did this when it was a rear facing baby seat) ________________________________________ Cherry rallye - DOB Thursday 29/04/1999Team Rallye - the leaner, meaner, better looking sister of the GTI6 roland rat wrote: You sir either live for the 6 or have a mental retardation to still be repairing this! Look at Ians link I haven't ventured into putting my child seat in the front yet for my 2 year old boy because he will never go in the back again! Personally, I would get a DVD player thingy and attach it to the headrest Thats easier to remove than your daughter from the front seat after she has seen how much better it is! ________________________________________ Ex Astor 6 ownerAlso an Ex owner of a Bianca 6 Now an ex owner of a 2005 9-3 2.0T 210bhp Aero Swedish Saloon thing!! Aye, I always thought you werent allowed to if you could not disable the air bag. In both the BMW and our Mondeo, you cannot turn them off at all.Amusing thing is my oldest daughter associated going to Leicester with going in the front of the car. So when I sold the 6, and said told her I have no need to go to Leicester again, she was crying lol Anyway - 220 miles; they will most likely get bored and go to sleep. The only real pain is giving them food and drink if you are on your own... |

Thanks for all the advise lads. Looking at the link, shes to young to go in the front. I'll get a DVD player on for her in the back... and yes she will fall asleep hopefully. If not, its going to be expensive stopping in every other service station! lol Banksey |
