Hello guys,

how much power is the magnex system (gti6 cat back) good for? planning T3 turbo conversion on 8v turbo block / gti6

head hybrid engine, looking to gain 270 plus

obviously the 2 inch 'feeder' to the centre box will be cut off and enlarged or replace centre box entirlely.

any thoughts...

cheers

You will need a proper exhaust of at least 2.5 inch bore from turbo back so best get someone who knows what they are doing to build one for you Thumbs up

i thought magnex' systems were 2.5''??

measured outside diameter, 67 mm, taking wall thickness into account gives approx 63 mm or 2.5'', no?

As long as you make a decent downpipe(maybe 3" if it will fit) and get rid of the 2" piece at the front, your magnex will be fine for 270 bhp. Much bigger at that power level will only make it louder.
Once you get to 300bhp you may want to consider having a bigger system made up.

3" downpipe with 100cell cat into a 2.5" system is fine on 350bhp volvos...
