I wanted to keep out of this, but as I've spent a lot of my time working on this car sorting out the f*ck ups, I feel strongly about this.

If lotek had sold this. to anybody else it would of backfired massively, small claims court etc etc. He is fortunate to of sold this to his cousin. Being family to Hovis I would of expected better from Lotek, instead he knowingly sold him a shitter and kept schtum.

If I sold a car to family in good nick and took a deposit then something went wrong, I'd be inclined to fix it! Not to ask for more money.

The heads warped like a banana and will not come up with a skim as its already on the limit.
Bores 1 and 4 have tide marks on the bore and the deck is probably warped.
Bottom end bearings and crank heavily scored.
Catch tank full of coolant/oil/petrol.
Seized front caliper.
Cracked pas pump
Knocking rear beam
List goes on and on.

Anyway hovis my next door neighbour has a 6 which he doesn't use! He bought it to copy me because he's a super GIMP he even went to the local Powerflow and said can you build my exhaust the same as Matt Lewis's please Roll eyes

Back on point though she's a runner and she's cheap cheap cheap, recent cam belt change to so maybe you could use this for parts?

Just saying There are no meets Round our way and I thought it would be nice to drum something up.

Hovis, you have done loads to that car. The car was more like a spares or repair car worth only £600 IMO.
If he genuinely did not know about the car I.E the cams and HG then it is a tuff one to call. I would say work out the time and money spent bringing the car back up to par and work out a price and hit him with that, and the deduct that from the price you aggreed in the first place.

When buying /seling car of mates/family is hassle either way.

CHEAP round about 700 bois, I will double check, you wouldn't want to own it though as it's a shed but I know the engine isn't bad.

Its got the loudest exhaust ive ever heard though without those mid boxes LOL

It drove past me when i was walking down Tring high street one day, and nearly took my head off with the popping/banging. He also flew past overtaking me when i was in my bro's sisters seat ibiza heading to berko one day, really canning it!

I would be careful about the engine in that one really, its been ragged....to within an inch of its life probably, and he doesnt seem like the sort of character that would let her warm up properly before doing so

Chris, it's sorned now mate been off the road a few months. As said recent cambelt. The bay is a bit grubby but the engine sounds sweet. Was just a thought for hovis that's all as it's cheap and he'll have lots of parts along with an engine in which he could change the HG to be safe along with the cambelt to be tripple safe.

If Lotek had no reason to suspect the cams were not aftermarket then he would have had no reason to look for any markings and would not have seen they were not what he had been told they were.

Which is the case, Ken the previous owner was mugged off by pug performance. Engine apparently had aftermarket cams in (but didnt) and was sold to Lotek under the pretence it had pipers in.
