Is it as simple as disconnecting both legs of the battery? and I assume it's safe if they have no voltage supply right or can they still blow up?

Quick question is there anything important I should know about disarming both driver and passenger air bag's i've never done it before and i don't want it blowing up in my face. I'm removing the dash board to get to my heater. Is it as simple as disconnecting both legs of the battery? and I assume it's safe if they have no voltage supply right or can they still blow up? |

disconnect your battery around an hour before you start. airbags are designed to hold charge if they lose power in an accident. |

Carl Judging by your smilie I guess that's not true? Yep, how can an ecu with no power, ie battery disconnected send a charge to ignite the airbag. Basically, as long as the ignition is off the circuit is asleep. That's why your advised to wait 15 mins to allow these to discharge. |
