I have kept this under my hat a bit as didnt want too many people popping there and messing with it but now its back home here is my 306 Rallye taking pride of place at Pinley House in Coventry, it has been there for a month and a half and in that time I have had a RCZ 200 to play with which was great! They the Rallye created alot of interest so that was good.

Anyway heres the pics so enjoy;

Thanks all.

It came about via Club Peugeot UK (CPUK) Peugeot has a deal with them and borrows members cars every month or so and have a theme going in the HQ. The Rallye was there because of IRC rally Scotland being on and they wanted a rallye theme. The deal is the lend you whatever car you want while its in there, picked the Rallye up in an enclosed lorry and dropped it back.

Brian it was a bit of spec(or lack of it!) and the brief history of the car.

Carl, the RCZ was very impressive, much better than I thought it would be! But no wont swap the Rallye for it! The RCZ did 36.8mpg in the 2600miles we managed to do in it and that was with some shall we say spirited driving! and its only £155 a year road tax! That cant be bad for a car with a 1.6 200bhp petrol engine! It did go well despite its size and wieght, yes its not the fasted thing in the world but I sure with a re-map it would fly!

if they put the engine in the 208 GTi then it should be good, as long as it looks the parts and drives properly too.

I liked the handling and looks from certain angles. Seen quiete a few about recently so they are starting to sell well

Wow you certainly took it for a proper road test, i have to say i really like the look of them, there was one on ebay the other week as a stolen recovered car with all keys and no damage, i was tempted and it only sold for £14, not bad considering its a £25k car and it only had 1100 miles on it, only thing it lacked was sat nav.

Thought I make the most of it while I had it plus it fell just right over my birthday and our holiday so had a mega road trip in it.

Yeah there is a few cheap ones around as I had a look to, a few non damaged one on pistonheads starting at £17k with 13k miles and a year old, like you say not bad cause as you say the are £26k up wards, the one with had with all the goodies on was £29k but still had no sat nav though that is a good thing in my eyes. Sadly the colours they are in are a bit dull for me, want a nice Aegeon blue or something like that?

it is its plate and it is the very last Rallye registered, but not the last one made!

I was built Nov 1998 so was one of the first made and so has no phase 3 spoiler or tailgate like the last few Rallyes had, the car has been forgotten all its life!

Hmm, that raises a wry smile. We tried to get one through a leasing scheme sometime in late 1999 but couldn't get hold of one. We were told there were no new ones left, sounds like that wasn't quite true. Ended up with a Mk4 Golf GTI - not really the same thing! Finally got a Rallye this year, about our eighth 306 I think. Yours looks spot on, doubt I will ever get ours half that tidy. If you ever want to part with it let me know!
