Not much of a project compared to my last one and will be slow going but my aim is to keep it as standard but able to hold it's own on next years ring trip with the work lads.

Picked up this around a month a go. after an epic trip to get it i took it away knowing it needed a polish to get it white again and a wheel bearing doing but other than that looked tidy.

after owning it for a week it developed a pretty serious oil leak. turned out to be a leaking crank seal and rear cam carrier so included a beware cam belt and waterpump kit.

Then a few days later the battery completely died. checked for loose wires and made sure the alternator was still going strong. from what i could gather it was just a fubar'd battery. since then its been faultless and I've hopefully sorted out the things that needed doing.

First big change was kicked off this morning

removed the god awful chequer plate and the bucket seats as i am after a standard car. i was left with this, needs a good clean but i am chuffed!

next job is rear beam. will prob go for a refurbed one instead of rebuilding mine. before i do that i need to decide on ride height. this is third 6/rallye i have had and this is the first one i have experienced with suspension and i have been blown away with the comfort and handling. lowering will just be for looks really as ride wise its perfect.
Also want to loose the cyclones as i hate having unbalanced wheels

Very nice!

I know what you mean about cyclones. I'm about to tackle this in earnest and the end result might be getting something else, as even if I get money back for rubbish balance attempts, it is still the time and faff to sort it.

Like the black mask crystal headlights too, make for a nice clean modern look.

Maybe just have the cyclones balanced? LOL

Lovely car though, i definately prefer white rallyes over the other two colours

Get the side strips colour coded and they look epic

My cyclones stay balanced for about a week after I fork out for balancing, tired of it now (even though I think they are the best suited wheel for the car)

Some 7" TD pro 1.2s i think...

What wheels you thinking of going for?

Looks a nice straight car Smile

If you want to keep cyclones why not get the centres machined out, sure it was someone on here that did it and offered it as a service.

He machined them out so run of the mill pug centres fitted straight in Wink

never had a problem with balancing cyclones! if done properly on a proper centre less wheel balacing machine then they are fine?

I know many tyre fitting places seem to stuggle with them but cant see why? I have the proper balancer here and never had a problem or had any wheel wobble with cyclones after I have done them?

to machine the centres out is a bit extreme?!

same as that, the local tyre place just has an adaptor that fits on to house centreless wheels. no problems with them

Bianca white 306 Rallye

125000 thousand miles

Serviced every 10K miles since may 2004 with Millers CFS 10w-40 competition fully synthetic oil for the engine and millers CRX 75w90 NT competition fully synthetic gear box oil, all filters and spark plugs done at the same time

At 100’000 a faulty cambelt kit was fitted and subsequently slipped, under warranty it had a full engine rebuild with new valves and tappets with a skim of the head, now drives better than ever

Only suspension mods are OMP upper strut brace and PhilipM lower strut brace

Engine bay and transmission mods, engine earth kit in red, oil catch tank in red, body coloured cam covers and inlet manifold with a PTFE gasket to bring down running temps, also has a Griffith engineering quick shift, new lower engine mount.

External mods are all seen on the photo’s

Recent work carried out is as follows

Wheel bearing 119000 miles sept 2011
New cambelt and waterpump kit, lower crank seal, rear cam carrier 120’000, oil change and filters oct 2011
Battery replaced, new with a 3 year warranty oct 2011
