Hi all, just recently noticed a noise when going over severe speed bumps with both wheels. It sounds exactly like this:

any ideas?

Is it a creak or a bang?

its like a grating sort of creak. there's no noise when going over a bump with one wheel though, on either side.

from other forums, it sounds like it could be anti roll bar bushes?

Aye drop links would be more of a bang.

Does it creak at all when turning the wheel? If yes, top mount bearings. If no...

ARB bushes possibly. Have you got tools to get under the car and disconnect the drop links? If so, disconnect them both and see if it still does it. If it stops you know the problem's one of the two. As said though there's nothing to really creak on drop links. Bearings or bushes creak though, just a bit stumped as to what would cause it if its only when both sides bump over something.

I'd check the arb bushes and that the clamps are located properly in the slots on the subframe.

not a squeek from the steering lock to lock. I'm pretty sure I need new drop links anyway, but this is a new noise. I should have the tools to disconnect them, but I may as well change them at the same time I think. It almost sounds like someone cutting bendy plastic with a jack saw if you can imagine it!

It's gone away now anyway, so I guess I won't find out.
