Fitted my new lightened flywheel and everytime i start the car i get a metalic noise! Never had this with my first flywheel and really want to know what it is. Have you checked the locating dowels on the starter motor and bell housing?It may be worth cracking off the starter bolts, and just make sure it's sitting comfortably and not binding on anything. I can't recall how many dowels it locates with, but if there's only one, there may be some room for movement with regards to mounting position, it would just be worth checking. I can't understand the problem myself - it's a problem i've not encountered before (and 10's and 10's of these flywheels have been successfully fitted). I am more than happy to look at the flywheel and get it inspected by the manufacturer if you can't get to the bottom of it. Odd but if seems to not make the sound all the time unlike gmans? I think it may as you said rich a locating thing. Sorry, can't really tell from sticking the two posts together - has someone actually figured out what the problem is?
