Central locking had a mind of it's own, only tended to work on 1 side, but would sometimes randomly lock the doors when driving

About 35ish round the roundabout, not sure how much speed was lost before the impact though. Didn't get any grief from the PC, he was already on his way to an incident involving a biker just a bit further down the road, so it was just put down to road conditions.

Aye, my dad said the same thing. Another point mentioned by the copper was the seat bolster, which will have provided a bit of cushioning from the impact. The fact that the floor folded and pushed the seat inwards helped aswell
