Without paying an amount to be allowed to sell, its like eBay - without the fees.

I find it quite bizzare that people can join the site free, profit from it, and provide no other input into the place.

Other forums that i've used, take Passionford as an example, you need to be a gold member (£10 per annum) to post any number of parts for sales threads, and up to 3 cars a year. Any more than that, or if you abuse the for sale threads by taking the p*ss (number wise), they rightfully class you as a "trader" and have to pay an enhanced membership to continue to make profit from advertising.

Simple really.

I agree

sure its has been said but I think people should be able to buy/post in Parts of Sale without any membership ; but if you want to sell I think there should be some sort of fee

this would cut down on people just coming on here to break up cars and take ages to send out parts? And not help out less experienced members etc

What I don't understand is the lack of input from Ash? Can you read this thread and atleast give you're views on whether you are considering making people pay to sell items please?

I agree with everyone that you should have a membership level to sell on here.

I would have thought £5 is a reasonable amount to require someone to sell items, but yes maybe more is appropriate.

I only highlighted your selling as a result of this comment..

PP is another conversation so we won't go into that in here.

..as essentially I don't see any difference between how you both use this forum, except your parts probably arrive Wink

LOL LOL

I think its only fair if you're making money off of forum members that you put in £5'ver for use of the service. Its only £5...

Why?

It's not a rule.

I appreciate bitter people who got lead to paying now realise they shouldn't have bothered, but as I have said before a few times in this thread, the membership levels weren't created to stop this.

In fact, it actually reiterates why many of us longer standing members haven't paid. f*ck all gets done about anything, so what would we really be paying for? When things improve, we may upgrade our levels.

If everything was left as it is and the site stayed the same, I personally do think more people would have paid.

Yep, as I've said before, once you ask people to pay, their views all of a sudden count. When it was free for everyone if you didn't like it there was little right to complain as you were getting it all for nothing.

If we are being asked to pay for membership (and I paid gladly as I had not been on here very long and wanted to show willing - besides I've got a huge amount of help off here and I'm very grateful for it), I don't get it why selling stuff wasn't at the top of the list for a paying privilege? Especially as you get your £5 or £10 back the first item you sell something - a lot more if the punter never receives the item - ahem. Thumbs down

But until that happens it is a bit difficult to knock people for doing it - as the forum rules allow them to and so there is no reason why not?
