My names lloyd and im 21. I work as a japanese car tuner near cardiff. Had a 205 gti as my first car when i was 16 and loved it. Always wanted a GTI-6 when i was a kid but never bought one. my last car was a 240bhp toyota starlet GT turbo, my GTI-6 is no where near the speed as that but im so impressed since owning it. Heres a couple of pics of my past beasts and my GTI-6, always looking for advice guys. Thanks in advance. My 205 GTI My Engine conversion from a Xantia My Starlet Big spec on the engine, td04 powered My little gem ________________________________________ Nice boy, Loves dropping the box! |

Looking good mate. Looks a good standard car. Those starlets can be bloody rapid!! Had chased one once that was level begging with my old scooby. They seem to be a little souless to me though. What's your favorite thing about the six then? Welcome to the club mate. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

I love the 6, i cant believe how nice it is to drive, the engine noise is lovely too, i like exhaust noise but you cant beat a good sounding engine. Ye the starlet was a bit evil, it was fun but with that much power in a L reg car doesnt feel safe after a while.________________________________________ Nice boy, Loves dropping the box! |

Fair enough mate. Well, i hope you keep it and enjoy it . If you like more power its relatively cheap to get 250bhp via a supercharger. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

Welcome to the fold Lloyd! 205 GTi is an AWESOME first car! Also Starlet GTT is to my taste. A bit surprised that you would go back to a Pug after having a Jap car? However you may be like me in being a sucker for a Pug GTi' Glad to see you have a Diablo, great colour. Looks tidy too and standard which is always a good thing when buying a car, whether you decide to turn it into a project or keep it as Peugeot intended. Any plans for the Beaut? Enjoy the forum its a great club to be part of! ________________________________________ I Live for the 306TEAM CHERRY PINK RALLYE 2008 BMW ///M 320d |

That would make it around the 300bhp per tonne mark. I know they are good little engines but I'm not so sure on 240bhp without loads of engine work and re bores etc. A friend of mine has one which he claims is 200bhp but there is no way it is. Don't get me wrong it's fast but not 200bhp fast, these things weigh about 800kg IIRC so even if it were 160 bhp it would still be rapid. He has spent alot of money on it to. I do have a soft spot for them though. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Welcome to the forum mate. I came from a Jap car background too with an R32 GTR. It was great fun with the more responsive R34 engine running at 400bhp but unbelievably expensive to maintain! Enjoy the Pug - they're relatively cheap to run and I find the engine quite torquey compared to other 2.0 NAs I've driven. If you ever decide you want something much faster, more exclusive and better looking then swap the GTi6 for a Rallye ________________________________________ Light travels faster than sound.
