I'll be integrating classifieds ads into the footer advertising, to make the classifieds section more ... erm ... integral, but in the meantime, feel free to advertise away
Any problems, please let me know.

Whatever you're selling - cars, wheels, parts, speakers etc - you can now use the Classifieds section.I'll be integrating classifieds ads into the footer advertising, to make the classifieds section more ... erm ... integral, but in the meantime, feel free to advertise away Any problems, please let me know. ________________________________________ quote: Ash is in charge, from afar |

Can we still use the old sections to scroll through?Edit: Just realised you locked every single thread in the old section The classified section is so so messy IMO. I notice most people buy parts that they see from scrolling on the off chance that jumps out at them that they never realised they needed. Having to search through and see a big thumbnail first will make it a whole lot harder to see your own previous topics to check up on. I will be very interested to hear other peoples feedback on this. At least put a 'show all?' button on there so it is a visual version of the old Also, just thought. So when someone sells something, and previously people would enquire with a common question that others would then be able to read through, people are going to be inundated with PM's asking the same questions? It opens up a can of 'I thought you were selling this to me? How come you have removed it, I expressed an interest' What do you propose for breaking threads? 300 seperate adds? That's a serious question, I'm unsure how you want people to go about that. ________________________________________ |

Hi, please can i ask what is the logic behind doing this?Every other forum always has a forsale section: parts, cars, wanted etc etc as its easy to find and just in general allot better to use or find what you want so not to sure why you have got rid of that section to be honest. however if some forums do have classifieds, as they do they have a link in the for sale section under classifieds whereas the link on this club is very hard to find as no one looks on the homepage for things for sale. New members will prob not be able to find it at all they will just think you are not allowed to sell on this forum. I think if you are going to do it this way i would at least put a classifieds section in the main forum then it would be 100 times better. Because at the moment people are now paying money for less/no exposure on there for sale threads and i know its not all about sales as you get allot of useful help/knowledge from this club but for the people like myself that like to sell, its not the best really. I know i have not payed yet but that is only because you don't accept paypal and i really don't like paying on my card for things if i can help it. If you would of took paypal i would of paid as soon as the new site went live so please bare with me and ill be paying shortly just need to pop to the bank. I would also be willing to pay more and have a footer like pug1off when i have setup the company and have had my website professionally made(something to think about for the future) if interested please send me prices etc. This is not a post to put you or the forum down in anyway just my opinion on what i think would make a better classifields section. Many thanks, richard. ________________________________________ Pugplus Peugeot parts specialists!!1000`s & 1000`s of new & used parts in stock International shipment Genuine Peugeot parts suppliers A range of Peugeot's for sale Contact info: Mob:07532066648 (richard) Email: pugplus@hotmail.com |

Some good points here.Firstly, if someone is breaking a car for parts, do they make 500 threads now? No, they make one thread listing all the parts. Same with the new Classifieds, one ad. No argument about it needing more exposure though, I'm working on that at the moment. Good idea linking the advert to a forum thread too, i'll look into that ________________________________________ quote: Ash is in charge, from afar |

Terrible idea. How can you launch a "new site" get everyone to pay (which a fair amount do as it was simply the old site but better looking and more efficient) and then make all the changes effectively being the real launch of the new site. Surely you make all the changes at the original release so everyone can see what they are paying for first, not after they've paid! I feel you've let a lot of people down with these new changes after the re-launch. I was extremely happy with the original site and too the new site before the changes which is why I paid and I'm sure why many others did, I wouldn't have bothered if I knew all this would happen. You only have to look at cwspellowe's thread 'parts for sale' in feedback to see that everyone else agrees, not one positive for the new changes. Sort it out (change it back) before you push all your CUSTOMERS away. Tom |

Sorry to say this tcrallye but posts like yours don't help a great deal as you seem to have worded quite strongly. This site only exists as Ash does it for us, in his own time..... I do tend to agree with what your saying though, but the way it was put forward was a bit strong..... I thought the old classifieds section was handy as you could search for individual items alot easier. As a suggestion maybe ash could have it so you put "tags" in your classified ad, so whenever someone wanted compomotives, even though the classified is for ten items, one of those items is "compomotive" and it would bring this up in the search result? ________________________________________ VW Golf GT TDI 115, 100k nooooooooooooooooooooo! |

I don't feel it was too strong at all. I don't deny that if it weren't for Ash then it wouldn't be here at all, I understand that and I think he has done a great job in the past. I just feel that he built up a great website for us all that was free to use, we then had to pay and because we were all happy we did then Ash changed it weeks after. The changes are clearly felt as a negative step to the majority if not all of the paying members and therefore it makes total sense to reverse that step to the prior setup which we all were more than happy with, had no major issues with and were happy to pay for. I'm sorry if you think it's a little strong but it's my opinion and I feel that as a paying member I have every right to express that. Anyway, I don't wish to argue about it, it's nothing personal but my opinion, Tom. |

For those who weren't listening first time round ... "I will be making the classifieds more integrated"For those who weren't listening second time round ... "I'M WORKING ON IT" FFS, it's not finished, and I'm clearly not going to leave something up that so many of you are so vocal about. Just be a little patient. ________________________________________ quote: Ash is in charge, from afar |

Good stuff, in that case I apologise. I still can't see it being as good as the original setup though. I'm a man of simplicity me, in my eyes that was perfect. |
