i was wondering if anyone knows why my gti6 wont rev above 6500rpm when its in 6th gear but will hit limiter in all the other gears, is there some sort of limiter in the ecu? |

6500 is where peak power is, at that speed it just will not go much further.why do you want to go faster anyway?! ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

the majority of standard cars wont hit limiter in top gear.one of my old mondeos a 1.8 16v did 130, but it was only at 5500rpm, and wouldnt budge above that. ________________________________________ 1997 blaze GTI-6 bought january '11 £800 Spend to date on parts £827.88 |

Is it an electronic limiter written into the mapping of the ecu or can it not go any faster because peak is at 6500rpm? ________________________________________ |

my theory is that if it wasnt limited to 6500rpm in 6th then it should hit nearly 150mph |

Air resistance is your problem You need huge amounts of power to make an extra few mph at that sort of speed with that sort of air resistance. ________________________________________ Goldie the track car. |

no, there is no restriction, it simply has no more power.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

What about if he modified the throttle pedal to allow it to be pressed further? Is that causing a restriction?________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

high boost does definitely as peak power is higher in the revs, not sure about low boost.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I swear I remember reading that Pauls SC China hit 157 on the rollers? ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Which means it didn't have air hitting it at 157mph. I wonder what percentage is taken off the speed (in relation to power) as air velocity increases... |
