if you do go for it, let us know what you think. I am considering the same car with a revo stage 1 remap to take it to about 250bhp

It's yellow. and I'm not making a joke out of it. Yellow Leons have epic (and I mean really epicly huge) paint fade and lacquer peel. Inspect it CLOSELY, ideally when it's clean as it WILL have spots of fade or where the lacquer is peeling unless it's been kept in a garage or under a cover all it's life.

Consult this list

It may be worth asking on the same forum if the car is known. if so a posting history search may work wonders, same as often has rewards on here.

Lowered leons have the rear axle moving inwards towards the centre of the car. Doesn't affect the ride or handling too much but looks weird.

unless you know the full history I'd probably seek out a standard LCR TBH then mod it yourself. Even a remap will get 260HP+ I've been told but I'm not sure if that's accurate.

Check the footwells as said in the guide. Chuck a bucket of water over it or try to visit when it's p*ssing down. if the guy is genuine he'll know why. Door seals leak and perish meaning water inside the car.

i had 1 of these and only kept it a month. they are very nice to look at and not bad to drive, basically a golf but they are slow. less bhp than a 6 and heavier. but saying that it is probably worth more than your mondeo may be worth doing to sell on.

Love the look of this car, shame it's not black. If I didnt like 6s so much I would probably of bought one of these. my mate has wanted one for years. Can't really comment on the drive of them, someone I know has had his 3 years so they can't be that bad LOL

I drove a modified one of these a couple of years.back At around 280hp it was fast but vague handling leading to an odd feeling of detatchment and also with poor laggy throttle response further adding to the feeling you were a few stages removed from the experience of actually driving the thing. That being said my daily driver at the time was a stripped caged TB'd Rallye on coilovers and solid mounts and RW wishbone bushes so most standard car will feel a little wooly after that. Quiet fast and Grown-up was the lasting impression, I'm just not sure I'm ready for that just yet Wink

I'd be suprised if its not above 285 due to the hybrid turbo, mines running 279 on the standard turbo, remamp, catback, forge dump vavle and k&n indo kit.

Had mine 4 years and it that time its basically been bullet proof, one coil pack in 55k of driving.

As pointed out, the yellows can peel their laquer off and go very dull very quick, but that does look pretty mint from the pics. I had a small issue with the rear door seal leaking, but its a cheap fix.

I'd snap the guys hand off for a swap deal Yes

I sold mine back in may after owning it for 3 years. They are really good cars, fast and reliable.

The one you have been offered is massively overpriced in my opinion. Mine was an 03 plate like that one, completely standard with full service history and less miles and i sold it for £3,800. It was black also which is a very "desired" colour. Granted that one is modified but i think the "market" price for an Onvi yellow one standard would be £3,500-£3,800, as mentioned above Onvi yellow fades like a b*tch and looks awful generelly. Therefore you are paying £1200-1300 for the mods which i think is way too much unless you can varify they were carried out by a reputable place etc.

I guess if you are taking it as a straight swap you need to know what you would get cash for yours and be happy that you are getting a good deal.

I thought the standard cupra was 210 and cupra R was 225?

No Cupra R's were 210bhp or 225bhp, ordinary cupras are 180bhp.

Technically you're all wrong, the mk2's rolled out with 222bhp as standard but got rounded up to 225 cos it sounded better Wink

When it comes to 'paying for the mods', the hybrid turbo is circa 1k and the intercooler not far behind it. With all the hoses, pipes, exhaust etc, you're probably looking at another £1500 of bits, so price-wise i'd suggest its bang on the money Yes

True, if we are getting that technical then the 210 refers to PS and is actually 212BHP.

Granted the mods are expensive but you don't get that back when selling a car so can't charge a huge premium but i was probably a bit harsh on the value of the mods to that one. I still think it is overpriced for the colour, anyother LCR colour and i would agree.

Check its had a clutch before otherwise be prepared to fork out for a new clutch and DMF as its done 91K and has been remapped.

*edit just read it has uprated clutch, ideal*

I think they look nice the back is a bit iffy and its a shame they've got 5 doors. Interior is w*nk compared to the S3's / Golfs etc.

Horrible colour too, get one in red.

Razz Handbags LOL

Agree with the colour, far too garish for my liking. Personally, if the works been carried out professionally and it was they say it is, then i'd not have a problem paying purely as some expensive groundwork has already been done, another couple of thousands and itll be stage 3 and 400+ ponies.
