It's weird. I'm on my phone with wifi and it says website not found. Same on my laptop. But when I switch to phone internet (3G) it's fine.
Just did now to me.

I have no idea about the repeated posts, did you keep hitting refresh?

Think the repeated posts are when folk post using their (i)phone ...

Usually when you post, you get the splash screen telling you your post was successful, then redirects you to the thread.

Sometimes this hangs when i use my phone, so end up hitting 'back' on the browser (hoping to return to the thread so I can refresh it from there)

The phones treat it as if you have resubmitted your post as they aren't quick enough to return to the thread, they go back to the 'limbo' posting function just long enough for the phone to submit it again ...

Does that make any sense, it's probably way off the mark, but possibly explains it to me

Dave

That's what was thinking. I don't think a browser would auto-submit, and the website only saves what it's given.

I'm still having the "website not found" page coming up, chrome tells me to search google for 306gti6.com. Im also having the problem on my phone with the wifi not connecting but 3G being fine? I've tried deleting cookies etc but have the same problem again.

Hope it can be fixed soonish, cheers Ash.

OK, turns out the server's watchdog service is throwing a tantrum and keeps restarting the web service. Solution - turn off the watchdog service.

Let me know if anyone still gets the problem.

Woody, do you know if your router keeps any DNS information? I wonder if it's trying to connect you to our old IP address? Odd that it won't connect through wifi, but will through 3G ...

I don't understand why there are all these problems, I've never had any problems at all, and it's been fine all morning.

I think there are some dodgy DNS records cached out there, it's not that the forum hangs like it did before, it just cannot be found. Not the site, but the actual domain name itself.

DNS needs sorting Yes

I've tried adding a dummy record, and switching name servers, but nothing seems to be working. The domain only exists on our own nameserver Blink

I'd have a word with whoever hosts the dns, or just remove the second nameserver from the domain.

I contacted 123-reg who told me that mixing my NS and theirs would cause problems and to stop using my own. It needs 2 NS so unfortunately I can't remove theirs.

Not sure why the domain doesn't exist on other NS tho ...

They should have standard ones, probably ns.123-reg.co.uk, ns1.123-reg.co.uk etc. It's their DNS system, they should be able to tell you what to set them to.

They were hugely unhelpful Thumbs down

I asked them three times to tell me what the domain was set to, and three different people told me to change my nameservers. Hopeless.
