Having just upgraded to a 310mm kit, I'm looking at flogging off my old Brembo/Tarox setup, which did not squeal because I bought the right discs.

To avoid it being covered for the millionth time and a load of idiots spamming this thread, normally Brembos squeal uncontrollably when you use the standard discs, whether you use the Xantia ones or the 206 180 ones. If your Brembos squeal, there's only one way to stop them, and that's to buy Tarox G88 discs which were about £250 for the pair when I bought them but are more now. They have deep-cut grooves which alter the resonant frequency of the disc so don't squeal and have the added benefits of a grooved disc.

This setup is beyond awesome for a road car, and has served me well for a couple of track days as well - I'm only upgrading as I want the absolute best setup I can have, albeit at significant cost and having to upgrade to 16s. Plus my mates have become used to peeling their faces off the windscreen, so I'm now looking to actually throw them clean through it.

This setup will *not* fit behind Cyclones as standard unless you run some fairly meaty spacers. I don't know how big they'd need to be, I'm sure a search will tell you. I ran them behind a set of Dotz 15s, so they do fit behind some 15s but I can't guarantee which ones. I'll chuck in the wheels as well for an extra £100, the tyres still have life but not loads. The fronts require 5mm spacers, which I'll chuck in for free along with the longer bolts required.

I'm selling the complete setup, ready to bolt onto a completely standard GTI6. It includes:

2x Brembo calipers
2x 90 degree copper pipes
2x Braided hoses in red
Almost-new EBC Yellowstuff pads
Brembo retaining pins and anti-rattle clips
Almost-new (no lip) Tarox G88 discs
Plus the wheels if you want those.

Literally this setup was removed in its entirely from the car a fortnight ago, it's everything required. I haven't cleaned any of it up yet so is still looks a bit of a mess, and the calipers could probably do with a respray or powdercoat if you're doing it properly.

Pads:

Calipers:

The calipers, hoses, pads and discs would be about £550-£600 new, I'm looking for about £400 for the lot collected from Essex. I could potentially post it but would rather not due to the weight and risk involved. I'd also rather not split the setup if I can help it, as I know it works well as it is. These brakes have been on the car for almost exactly a year, during which time the car's done a few road miles and five trackdays, discs and pads are practically brand new.

Any non-stupid questions and offers will be considered. As I say they're not cleaned or boxed yet, but will be ready in the next few days.

For you Christopher, I'll even *beat* Wonga.com's APR. I'll take 12 easy-to-manage monthly payments of £150, which is a very reasonable 4125% APR. Total amount payable is £1800.

If you do end up splitting it up i'd be interested in the disks as mine are in need of replacing.

I've given the G88's a once-over, except for the surface rust in the middle they really are good as new. Absolutely zero lip.

I'd also consider throwing in the standard discs for £20 or so just in case you fancy putting them on to see what you're missing. I tell you what you'll be missing, you'll be missing your hearing. But just in case you fancy seeing for yourself, the option's there. I probably did no more than five miles on these, they're the Brembo ones from GSF which are about £35 each.

Would also sell the Xantia discs for £50 delivered if anyone wants just those.

Owain - I remember talking to you at Woodbridge about these. I know they won't go behind cyclones and you say you have a set of other wheels aswell, do you or anyone else know if they will fit behind 205 speedlines?

Honestly don't know, have a search about and I'm sure someone'll have the answer. Almost certainly they'll need spacers, just a matter of how large.

20mm+

i.e nope LOL

they are much the same shape inside as a cyclone and the lazer wheels, given they are all 15"x6 ET19 and made by speedline.

Wouldn't rule it out - all you need is a Heinz baked bean can for each side. Cut it in half, bolt one end to the hub and the other to the wheel. Weld can back together = plenty of clearance.

Not only that but they're then easy to balance, just rearrange the beans in side the can until they don't wobble anymore.
