Shock

Is this a wind up?

A lad at work, a few weeks back, was blowing up a tyre that had an 'egg' in it. It exploded at 1.5, just missing his face and ripping tiles off the wall.

Any tyre that has damage to its wall needs scrapping straight away!

Had an egg in one of mine a couple months back cause of a crack in the rim. Tyre had only been on for a few months and had to fork out to get it replaced. Don't take any chances mate.

The split may not let air out, but has certainly weakened the tyre. Obviously.

I had an old tyre (with loads of tread) years ago. Was slightly perished. On a long journey when it got hot it blew out and I shat myself. A blowout at 90mph is not fun. The tyre managed to tear my bumper and smash my back light.

I saw eggs exactly like that, if not worse on EVERY tyre on an M3 in a car showroom a while back. They had tyre shined them up to almost a mirror finish, so they were very ignorant to offer the car for sale with them still on.
