Hi everyone im bit of a noob when it comes to my gti 6 havent had it long so just grasping the basics of it all. Anyway my car was overheating recently so took it to a family friend whos a mechanic and he said i need a new radiator which is fair enough. He gave me a price of getting one himself and that was £200+ is that about right or am i being taken for a mug??? Ive been looking myself and didnt no if anybody new anywhere cheaper cause he said he would be happy for me to do that and he would still fit it. Also my Gti6 has air con so i was told i needed a rad for air con is this true?

Sorry for the lobg message any help would be greatful

Thanks

They are about £110.

You only need the air con condenser if it gets damaged taking it off.

Hi sorry to steal the thread, i'm in need of a replacement radiator too.

I have air con in my car, but i haven't used it since I got the car 3 months back(no gas, but pipes look ok, so i've been told).

Is this the correct rad?
I believe it is since i've been told the nissen's one is the one to get instead of the standard one.

I'm only asking because in the description it says its for vehicles without air con while there is another one on ECP at twice the price and says it is for vehicles with/without air conditioning.

click for other radiator ECP suggested for my registration plate

Also, once I go to check out and then click on the radiator to check that it is the correct item I am about to purchase, a fat message comes up saying it will not fit my vehicle even though it was the suggested one when i entered my registration number Confused

If it's possible i'd like to buy a new one to take advantage of the promotion because with the 25% it would make the new rad £59.

However I have a feeling it is the incorrect one, in which case i will be chasing around for a used one x)
