Had the pin pop out of the clutch release arm on me last night. Lost the clutch but shoved a spare bolt I had in the car into its place and was able to get the car home.

Now this is the second time that it has happened. The one thats just gone was brand new from Peugeot and was always a bit loose.

I have ordered a new one (cost less than £3), however going to look into getting a similar size bolt or nut or a pin from a different car that also has a split pin to really hold it in place.

Does anyone know of any cars that might have a pin that can be properly fastened in?

The spring was on the pin, still was loose. Came with a cable tie as well when I got it from Peugeot, but never used it.

Anyone know the diameter and length of the pin?

pin comes from pug with the spring. Sure you got the right one? Shouldnt come with a cable tie.

If a nut and bolt will do the job for you better then keep that. Its only to secure the fork.

What about using a split pin or a couple of the roll pins (like the ones on the door check strap)

pug sell a differnt style one, i cant remember exactly but i think it has 4 small sticking out lines on it that make it tight as you have to knock it in and once that gets in it wont come out, ive bought 2 before and one was the standard one with spring and the other was tapered with a nut on the end to help removal. trouble with the teapered one was that i couldnt get it off and it had only been on for 2 months, maybe it was for a different car but it fitted and will not come out, pity i had to replace it with the spring type.
