Took the gti6 for an mot today, failed it emissions
Fast idle test
Co 0.748 maximum should be 0.300
Lambda 1.259 maxim should be 1.030
2nd fast idle
Co 1.117
Lambda 1246
Natural idle test
Co 0.932 should be 0.500

Any idea what can be causing these readings?

Cheers

Pete

You sir either live for the 6 or have a mental retardation to still be repairing this!

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fecking temperamental.

Coolant temperature sensor or the lambda is the usual suspect

No, but everything else is easily fixable
Will sort the other issues, take it for a thrash take it to test the emissions. If it fails I'll try the. Coolant sensor if that fails I'll try the lambda

Well it passed it's emissions

I swapped the coolant temp sensor as a precaution, couldn't get the lambda off though! Somebody has tried before and rounded it off, so I think they struggled last time.

The tester (different one to before) asked if it had had a belt recently, I said yes then he bounced it off the limiter a few times, that bought the co and lambda right down!
