Don't do it most people will cry and tell you your rear beam looks broken and that your handling will be terrible. However mine is 60mm so when I fire up the laptop I shall assist you in a picture ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Surely the handling is just crap, you have to crawl over speedbumps and it causes excessive wear to all suspension components! Plus don't ever mount a kerb ________________________________________ VW Golf GT TDI 115, 100k nooooooooooooooooooooo! |

Yeah I spent all that money on suspension/components to make it handle shit They're not eBay specials you know. Speed bumps aren't an issue for me at all tbh. Come for a passenger ride then comment on the handling ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Seriosuly mate? Mine's on Koni's and you can't drive over speedhumps or raised traffic calming objects on the road at normal speeds!!I'll take your word for it, i admit handling is alot better though!! ________________________________________ VW Golf GT TDI 115, 100k nooooooooooooooooooooo! |

TBH i only had issues with massive speed bumps, only thing that scraped was the exhaust as it was hung too low.________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

God strike me down. I can go over any speed bumps. Ok I admit I can't fly over them but what the hell by slowing down I'm helping other road users suspension out haha. On a serious note though it really does handle extremely well. The dampers travel with the springs nicely, the ride is stiff but damped nicely. Let's face it though the roads in the uk are not good for any suspension upgrade other than super super soft. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

I'd put money on it that it does not handle at all well. It probably has more *grip* than standard, but if you were giving it some on bumpy roads the wheel to road compliance would be absolutely awful. As soon as you go over a bump, you'll be on the bumpstops. When on the bumpstops the springs can't do their work and the dampers might as well not be there. I've heard a few people recently say their cars "handle well" when what they really mean is that it doesn't roll that much (because you're on the stops mainly) and on flat roads it seems really impressive. Stick it on a track with my car which is only lowered 30mm but has decent suspension and thicker bars and you'll see whose car handles well Not a dig, it's your car and if you want that look and it works for you on the roads on which you drive then best of luck to you. Handling is all about the suspension components all working together, and there's simply no way a car that low can do that unless you had some seriously custom made components. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Owain. Why do you assume it touches the bump stops? It certainly isn'. a few people on this forum know just how well it handles and grips wether the road be bumpy or flat? ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Yeah, but then you knock the piston off the rear dampers, what do you think the bumpstops are there for in the first place?!________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. Gosh lighten up guys. My bump stops are fine do you think I cut the whole thing off or something? The fact is it handles perfect bumpy roads or not. I understand that alot of older people on here don't like low rides but i love it. It would put alot of things to shame in the corners probably yours to owain And quit with the bump stops I have sufficient travel before the arms are anywhere near them. It's a 60mm drop not 100mm. The lowering kit is designed to sit that low to. If I had dropped it that low on the o.e stuff then granted it would handle terribly. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

mattgti6phase2 wrote: It would put alot of things to shame in the corners probably yours to owain Believe me it would not Don't get me wrong I'm not having a go at you at all, you obviously like it for the look more than anything and the lower centre of gravity will reduce roll and improve handling to a degree. My point it only that there's more to handling and grip than making it low ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |
