I had the car tracked a few months ago and it drove lovely, the other day I noticed it now drifted towards the left. After a little investigation I think i have found my problem:

Image on the left is the nearside. Must have happened when I fitted my solid mounts, am I correct in thinking I can just loosen off those bolts and knock the beam foward, I guess it's meant to sit against the back as that's where the metal looks fresh from where they had been for the last 14 years.

arg, been having a poke around tonight and now i'm just more confused. Got some better photos though.

You can see the washer is pushed over on one of them but still not enough to even it out. The thing is I don't see how this can move anywhere because the position of the mount thing is set by the front mounts.

Rear mounts been put on 180 degrees round to what they should be? I think that's possible, can't really remember.

Hmmm

I'd say the fact that you now have solid mounts on the rear means that the beam has found its natural position. I'd look at sorting the front end now with roller bearing lower arms and also replace the track rod ends. Also have a look at you suspension top mounts and up grade your engine mounts Wink

I find on the 6 if you renew change one end the other end does not like it ?

however that is just my view and what would I know after 12 years of owning these things Wink

The two threads are offset to the side IIRC, so you couldn't turn them 180degrees. But I *think* they are back/front central so swapping sides wouldn't make any difference. If anyone could confirm this?

Appreciate the input but engine mounts? Maybe I should check the wiper blades as well?LOL

I can absolutely believe fitting solid mounts will highlight tired parts at the front but I can't see how they would affect how the beam sits.
