Hi, After fitting an after market steering wheel I now want to get the airbag light to stop flashing. Does anyone know of a way to do it

(other than taking the bulb out of the dash)

Is it a case of connecting the two wires to create a circuit or can you get a specialist bit of wiring??

You need to wire a resistor in, but I don't think anyone ever knows what resistance you're meant to use.

Pug have a part for doing just that (called a shunt, they used them on the non-airbag models) but when I tried ordering one it's no longer available.

I just took the bulb out.

great thanks, so if you rip apart a non airbag model say at the scrap yard, it could be possible to find this shunt part in them?

Honestly don't know, never even saw one. I think it's in the passenger side dash from a Rallye where there's no passenger airbag.

The resistor is just a standard 2p resistor you could get from Rapid or Maplin, it's just knowing the correct resistance to buy.
