There's a heatshield that attaches to the engine at the back just above the manifold with two bolts, mine had crack on one end and was causing a metallic vibration type sound at certain revs, I've had to take it off at the moment, basically how important is this piece? Cant see it having much use tbh its very thin?________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Well the Rallye i had went on fire due to that heat shield falling off, id try an get a replacement as the matrix pipes and some wiring is exposed so may get hot an cause problems.________________________________________ In my garage just now2003 BMW M3 & 2009 L200 Raging Bull & Audi Q5 S Line AX stock rod & Saxo Stock rod Sold the bike an charged rallye an bought a caravan, midlife crisis or what! |

Are you lads on about the same thing?I initially thought he meant the bulkhead flimsy heatsheild which protects matrix pipes. After re reading it's clear he means the shield that attaches to the rear cam cover and the manifold itself. Without it, you risk 'melting' the cam cover gasket. I imagine that is what it is there for. I have a spare shield if you want a replacement. ________________________________________ |

I don't think I will have any problems getting it to you quickly mate. I should have the bolts somewhere. I will whip you a PM in the morning when I have found the bolts. I am going to the post office with a few other bits so will be able to get it out tomorrow for you. ________________________________________ |
