The non-aircon early ph1 version is, it's about 6 inches narrower, and the core is only 15mm thick________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. ive been wondering this question, mainly wether you can get a rad that fits without the reservoir part on the left been as big as it is.________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

i own a phase one 1.4 and a gti6 how lucky for you yes its a smaller rad with a single fan, expansion tank part is same size and with some jiggery bodgery it would fit hose/mounting wise. not sure about swapping fans and why youd want a smaller radiator? ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

^^Well, I switched to a bigger radiator as the 1.4 one struggled to keep even my engine cool on summer trackdays...so it might not be as good an idea as you think!________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. My boost pipes are rather easy to run...I'm on the Ph2 1.4 air-con version, which is the same thickness but wider. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. ive been thinking about this and the solution ive come up with wont be cheap, basically you want to fit 2.5 inch boost pipes but it doesnt fit, just.so buy an alloy rad, like nissens, take to a alloy rad and tank engineers get them to take off the black plastic reservoir and fit/weld a new one on thats an inch or so shorter. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

am i missing somthing? ive already been lectured on here about the vitalness of the cooling system possible overheating for a fart in a tornadoes worth of performance? im probly being a noob here but the only benefit i can see from a smaller rad is weight reduction and maybe space saving. if this has already been discussed anychance of a link to the thread? ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

He doesn't want a smaller rad he just needs the expansion tank to be an inch shorter to fit a pipe through. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

Ok i get it, so theres no need for boost pipes as you can just Bluetooth the charge air from the charger to the intercooler, cool the air them bluetooth it again to the inlet manifold? Why bother with a car then why not just Bluetooth ourselves to where we need to go? ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
