Been in one of these recently and made me contemplate getting a gtd. Very comfy seats for long journeys! : D

The audi sounded like a dog from day 1, iirc it had been pranged?

Nice carThumbs up I hope the DSG doesn't go wrong tho. I read about them when looking for our Passat. They can be silly expensive to fix if they do go wrong and there's very few people that can fix them. Thankfully failures seem to be few and far between Smile

Luckily I got 12 month warranty which covers the gearbox as well. Made sure of that! It can also be taken to any garage I want for warranty so I'll be going to VW!

Thats lush mate! I was looking at those recently (as a car to share with the GF) but with reasonable mileage they're a little out of my price range I'm afraid Sad

It is quite expensive tbh. Done 68k but I'm fed up off buying shitters so I decided to finance something decent!

Luke, if you dont mind me asking, how much did you get for your S3?

I got offered 6K part ex for mine at Christmas time for a Megane 175 DCI, and I stupidly never took it. Mine is on for 6K at the moment with very little interest, but as the clutch has started slipping, I sold it to some guy that put in a stupid offer at 4,900.

Gutted to lose 2K in 15 months, but the market for these is non existant at the moment

The market is dire atm. I was really lucky to sell mine at christmas, managed to get £5k for it as it was low mileage at 64K but old (1999 - V) Especially lucky as i only paid £3800 for it Smile

£4900 isnt bad considering the clutch is a big job (DMF & new slave cyclinder) you'd be looking at least £600

Really? Saw it on pistonheads for £3800 LOL

Done the right thing though. 68K is nothing for one of those, they still seem to be fetching good money with over 100K on them.

Was looking more px but I don't want any comebacks so I just cut my loses and got a decent car! I know it wasn't worth 3800 but just opens up to be brought down on price LOL

4,900 isn't too bad, but I'm a c*nt and didn't mention the clutch! It's only just starting to go and it didn't slip when he booted it on the test drive.

Feel quite bad about it as I've never knowingly sold anything that was knackered, but he's got a good car for the price but may need to spend a bit to get it right.

I wouldnt worry about it, it had done 90K iirc? and was remapped, he should have budgeted for a new clutch anyway.

Golf is really nice though Luke hope it does you well.

I only done my clutch a few weeks ago, hub, engine mount. Its just costing me too much money to keep. 16 MPG is a bit of a killer too!

16mpg, you must have a right heavy foot. Mine is averaging 37.4 atm, do to lots of 50mph limits and trying to preserve the clutch! Normally get around 29 though

Well I'll find out Thursday when I collect it. Seems pretty quick to. Feels quicker than the s3 but that's probably because its fwd and solid.
