Is there anything that might have caused this from fitting the cable or am i just becoming a worse driver day by day?

I maybe imagining this problem but had my clutch cable changed last week and since then on occasion when i have gone to change up from 3rd to 4th it actually selects 6th....which is a bit of a killjoy if you are giving the beans! Is there anything that might have caused this from fitting the cable or am i just becoming a worse driver day by day? ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Bump. Problem this morning when setting off for work - new clutch cable has come loose or snapped again and i had to kangaroo jump it to the garage again. What could cause this? Hasnt felt right since i got it back. Feels creaky. Maybe they routed it wrong? ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' unlikely as the cable has nothing to do with the gears.id suggest checking the condition on your gear linkages as one may be bend hence the selection issues |

odd that its only started doing it since the cable originally snapped? Mayb i damaged the linkages by drivin with no clutch cable? Still unsure why it seems to have snapped again today either. A new cable should be smoother on take up and impossible to unclip by iself unless it has a faulty ratchet or seized release arm |

Is it a proper Pug clutch cable ? Sounds odd if it keeps falling off ? Maybe you need a new clutch ? |

Gear issue will most likely be down to the linkages as Ash said. If the cable keeps snapping it has probably been routed incorrectly or is rubbing against something, failing that it's new clutch time. May be pressure plate related causing excessive load on the cable?________________________________________ Racing driver, fighter pilot, astronaut, compulsive liar. |
