I was going to get a genuine pug spoiler. They are like rocking horse shit though!
I was tempted to half inch this one, but decided that Morrisons car park wasn't the best place to start breaking cars for spate parts! I did offer him 50 quid for his complete boot lid but he wasn't up for it.

Just a quick update. I used my angle grinder to "carve" my rear bumper into the right shape ready to be filled. I've put the base layer of SMC filler on to build the shape up and then I'm going to top it off with some 2k stopper. The driver side top corner has a split in it which I will plastic weld and refinish. I'm hoping to keep the crease line in the top of the bumper as I want to keep it looking oem.

Nice project, out of interest what size is the compressor you use? i.e. size and cfm? Been thinking of getting one for the garage to do bits of spraying, done loads of spraying in the past at work with the gravity gun but the compressors in work are huge and wondered which small compressors would be up to the job at home?

I've got a 50 litre, the red one in the pic. It's ok for doing small stuff. You could do a wing or a bumper for instance but even then you have to stop regularly to allow it to catch up (not ideal). As the pressure drops the finish can become more Orange peely as the paint won't atomise correctly. If your aware of this you can kind of wing it. I would say that a 150 litre would be the minimum to keep up with a spray gun. Just a side note. My impact gun will drain the 50 litre one in about 10 seconds and then its weak as p*ss!

looks a excellent project, never even noticed the green one had 2 doors!! think it looks pretty garish (the green one, as a lot of ecosse cars do) but your s looks pucka.
Not overly keen on the colour, and have to agree that white with black rims (all the rage at the moment) would look modern and really nice.
keep it going very good inspiration for others

I'm in such a dilemma with the colour. I always got the impression that people painted custom cars white because its a bit of a cheat. White will hide a multitude of sins when it comes to panel straightness. I suppose I wanted to show off a bit and prove that a project like this can be pulled off by a normal guy in his garage and have a good finish with metallic. But then again I used to love polishing the misssus's white 3 door dturbo. Decisions.... would it not look a bit like a fridge from the back?

Leave it Astor, subtle and not too dated.

Have a look at that white T16 if it appears at pugfest this year. white body black rims small boot spoiler. looks fookin awesome. And i dont even like 406 s
think it would look pretty cool lowered on 17 inch black gloss rims with frost white body.......
looks ok as it is really . Quite weird today as i dont ever think i have seen a sedan ever apart from the shiney one that used to appear at pugfest, but today i saw one and it even had a small spoiler on it like the one you were going to nick/buy

Quick update; Sprayed my front bumper last night and fitted it when i got back from work this afternoon. I'm impressed to say the least! I'm starting to see why people like astor now. It kind of looks like a black car on the face of it but having the metallic makes all of the contours show up. The difference in colour between horizontal and vertical panels is very noticable when the sun is on it.
What do you think?
