This certainly wont be the most exciting threads on here but i didnt see the harm in me putting it up on here even if it only serves as to motivate me a bit and its something for me to do at work Roll eyes (after all Ash has a thread which is four pages long and all he did was buy an alloy gear knob LOL )

So after making the terible mistake of selling my blaze 6 Love over a year ago i find myself in another one!

Bit of an impulse purchase but seems as though i got a fair deal

So in febuary i got this!

Black, Phase 3, 100K, Bog standard, Full Pug History and 3 owners also had the bonus of being HPI Clear

I have to say its one of the most genuine cars ive come across, car came with a mountain of paperwork (all peugeot) all 3 keys, original numberplates, car mats, tax disc holder and keyrings. Even had the supplying dealers sticker still in the rear window!

The downsides were (aside from not being blaze) :

Split in the rear bumper

Scuff on the front bumper

Few odd marks where the paint has come away for some reason - im guessing its birdshit and the old dear that it before me wasnt particularly vigilant with getting it off!

The drivers seat has a small hole in it

Other issues were the wheels were in need of a refurb and the front wipers seemed to have a mind of their own, remote locking doesnt work and one of the spare keys wont start the car

So it gets garaged (well, barned) until i move much closer to work and can afford to get rid of the HDI and start using this instead.

I sold my HDI to John (walker_texas_ranger) off here, just before it goes i swapped the front two wheels off my car with the ones off the HDI as they arent balanced properly and i didnt have time to get them done before he picked it up!

So the back two wheels on the 6 (which were pretty bad to be fair) have now been replaced with some worse ones off the HDI (220K hadnt been kind to this cyclones! Im planning a refurb so i suppose it doesnt matter for the time being!

A few weeks after this i bought a black rear bumper off Ash without a crack in it, so i slammed that on it.

Put some batteries in the keys and reprogammed them which got the remote locking working on one. The other one wont work and still doesnt start the car either Sad

I took the car to leicester to visit Carl for a new cambelt kit and water pump and he recoded my keys aswell so they are all working and remote locking is working on all of them now too Smile

Sometime later I took a trip to the local breakers (Furbers, Whixhall) to see if i can get a new wiper motor for the front

I stumbled across a Phase 2 6 all smashed up in the corner with a pretty mint interior in it, so managed to negotiate that for £50 with a front wiper motor thrown in aswell

New Interior

I noticed the phase 2 seats seem way comfier than the ones that came out of it and managed to sell the ones out of it for £51 on ebay so made a cheeky profit there!

Also fitted the wiper motor which sorted the problem!

Started it this morning after realising MOT ran out last week Doh and im greeted with a flashing airbag light, so im currently waiting to here back about that but not expecting a straight forward pass Sad

Haven't really got any major plans for it other than a good tidy up at this point which will consist of:

Alloy refurb in either white or standard silver

A machine polish so i can see exactly how much paintwork needs doing on it

A date with the dent man to take out the trolley dings

Full service

New Tyres all round (probs T1-R's)

New discs and pads all round - probably stick to pug for these.

Ill be keeping it standard till i get it a bit tidier then who knows!

In regards to flashing airbag light, if it turns out you need new airbag ecu's and control units etc, let me know and you can have mine for a small amount of money Smile

The air-bag light is probably the plug connectors, if you take them apart and reconnect, 9/10 the light will go out. but to solve this problem, cut the plugs off and solder the wires. we see this problem quite often in work. a lot of people think it is the pre-tensioners as that is the fault code recorded in the airbag ecu.

So why are they relating to two different places and garages then?

hmm the sticker is the odd one out. They are the same dealer though, just different branches.

Car passed its MOT yesterday with 2 advisories - rear tyres and passenger side track rod end ball joint having play.

When i picked it up the airbag light had gone off but called in at a mates on the way back and when i set off home it was back on again.

Fighting the temptation of taking the bulb out ill whip the seats out at the weekend and see if i can sort it.

Solder the wires together, bit of shrink wrap, do it properly and it (should) never need doing again.

Thanks. I have still got the damaged bumper which is free to a good home and I've also got another black one which is in excellent condition for £25.

Not done anything on my list but have bought some new 16" alloys for it

Was planning on keeping it standard but with nearly new tyres i couldnt really help myself!

Ill hopefully have the right bolts for them this week so will have them on soon and ill be able to crack on refurbing the cyclones on it now.

I would be carefull with doing this if you are planning on keeping the car. On some paperwork we recently had come through from vosa airbag lights could soon become part of an mot test. Which as with abs lights would need to be seen to come on and then go out once engine started to pass an mot. Not happening yet but it was something they were looking at changing in the near future.
