I have had a quick look through threads but can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for..
Basically, I have changed my 6 into a weekend/fun car so I can start doing trackdays and take it to the 'ring etc. Since stripping out the interior and making some suspension changes I have found the rear end of the car to be a lot more "loose" shall we say. For example when I went out for a blast at the weekend on a quiet b road I know, there is a right turn that goes straight into a left. Before the changes I was able to brake through the first turn and power through the second. When I did this at the weekend it unsettled the car and went basically sideways through the second turn
I know that is a pretty bad example as its not the ideal way to take corners, but it definately isnt as planted as it used to be. If I stay flat through a bend though, there is no issues and feels lots better than before.
Current spec is:
- Stripped interior
- Toyo R888 tyres fitted
Front Suspension:
- KW v2 coilovers (set quite stiff)
- RichW roller bearing wishbone bushes
- New balljoints/pinch bolts etc
- OMP upper strut brace
Rear Suspension:
- Bilstein dampers (unsure of which ones)
- Stiffened rear beam mounts
I assume the problem is down to no weight over back axle, and rear suspension softer than the front, so on the cards is some solid mounts and hybrid arb and move battery to boot.
Just wondering if that will solve the issues, and if there is anything I can do in the mean time. Maybe soften the coilovers, or play with tyre pressures?
The other thought I had was running the 888's and not getting any heat into rears?
Any thoughts/advice welcome
