This is my 6th 306 and hopefully my final one.

Welcome to "Project Tic Tac"

I have bought this of Vetch and was previously owned by Spiky so i now the cars a good 'un but needs some love to restore it to its former glory.

Plans for it are

Interior - New dash silvers, gearknob and steering wheel and a small repair to the drivers boulster

Bodywork - Full machine polish and touch up a few minor marks, fit the refurbished Cyclones i have with Nearly new Michelin Exaltos.

Enginework - Just a Pipercross Viper as it has already been fitted with Kent PT81's and remap from the wizard Wayne Schofield and running 194 BHP Cool

Suspension - complete overhaul with Billie B4's and eibach springs and all new TRE's BJ's ETC

Keep them peeled chaps for updates Smile

Here we go! Wink

Started off today by emptying the boot off all the bits Stuart (Vetch) bought for her but never fitted.

Heres all the goodies for me to fit which are:

New Bilstein B4 shocks
New droplinks
New track rod ends
New balljoints
New strut top bearings
New rear beam mounts
New Bilstein rear shocks ZX 16v jobbies Cool

Then i moved onto the mods.over the last few months/years of breaking 6's ive built up a collection of bits that could be used on future projects and best of all cost me nothing! Big grin

First up was changing the side repeater bulbs from the standard orange ones some nice silver ones.

Before

After

Then moved onto removing the horrid Red "GTI" badges off the doors

Before

After

Next up was the rusty wprer blades which were frankly pure w*nk!Quick rummage in the shed reveals some nice Bosch jobbies for her.

Before

After

That was enough for outside so i moved inside to do a little bit of freshing up.First thing to be tackled was the nasty dash fascia,it looks like some blind monkey with a rattle can had sprayed the original one so that just had to go!

I prefer the phase 2 Brushed Aluminuim effect one over the phase 3 Silver item before anyone (Thug) says its the wrong one for the car.

Also moved the aftermarket alarm LED into the original location next to the air vents.

Before

After

Next up was knob, after being through many mens hands over the last 10 years it was battered and even peeling Blush!Luckily the last 6 i broke had a mint standartd one so in it goes.

Before

After

Steering wheel was next on the agenda as the original one was more flaky than Ed's dandruff!LOL

before

After

Last little job was the jack holder.the jack was being secured by the CD changer holder and just wouldnt do.

Before

After

Next up is taking the rear spoiler off and replacing it or a nice one ive got somewhere and fitment of the refurbished Cyclones with new exaltos that are blocking up my mums summerhouse Whistle

Intended to work with 21mm torsion bars, and they didn't get the spec wrong like they did with the first generation of 205/306 dampers, though tat has now changed and they are a vast improvement.

BNE 1932 is the ZX/Xsara part number IIRC, 205/306 ones are BNE 1931.

Have the pistons been pocketed to accommodate the cams?

Or you think that not necessary?

haha an old friend Smile

magic sent me a PM on the weekend about the car asking if i was selling Smile

dont know about the pistons, i'm going to guess they havent been done, so you not getting full potential, but it still went well

you putting a CAT back on?, as it does sap some power,as the noisey exhuast sounded shit, but the car seem to breath better.

did it need rear mounts? never noticed that,

soooooo needed a polish, god knows what the previous owners polished it with..lol
