I'm gonna give my rallye an oil change this weekend! And just wondered what oil to go for? As above, it's a standard engine used for fast road use!Did do a search but couldn't find anything! |

Am I right in thinking a 10-40! Worth going for a fully synthetic or just sticking with a semi synthetic? |

I splashed out and put 0w-40 fully synth mobil one in mine. Noticed it gets up to temperature from cold much quicker than with the 10w-40 which can only be a good thing IMO.________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

it was meant to be £50 but when cosmic spanner walked in donning a his leather jacket, they didn't want trouble, or to become the subject of ridicule, so they just gave it him cheap ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

They see me rockin' up, they don't want no trouble.. And yet it just never seems to work out that way... ________________________________________ Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch....Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. Mine didn't like Total 9000 5W40. It seemed to drink it. Doesn't use a drop of 10W50 Pro-S ________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

smegal wrote: interesting. Ive got 5w40 fully synth in mine and it does seem to use about half a litre every 6k. I do do a fair bit of miles. Engine returns good mpg. Is that oil consumption similar to what you had when using it? Car does purr when it has a belly full of oil and more mechanical when revving when it needs topping up. Can't say I noticed an increase in oil consumption when switching to quartz 9000, will keep a close eye on it when I get it back on the road though. Got 3 bottles of it off ebay for approx. 57 delivered :tup________________________________________ High boost '6 for weekends406 2.1 Executive for weekdays |

To be fair I'm sure the manual says that 0.5l per 6k is about right but I didn't like it. ________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |
