Disconnect the battery then do something to run all the capacitors flat, put the blowers on or something.

You can then just remove it by unscrewing it from the back and unclipping the wire.

With no power it can't go off, doesn't mean I didn't sit well to the side while doing it though LOL

That'll get the airbag out, but will leave your airbag light on. Peugeot apparently do a shunt (just a resistor) which clips in the place of the airbag to stop the light coming on, but I ordered one and it just never arrived and they gave up.

I believe there might be one on the Rallye where the passenger's airbag would normally be, might be worth seeing if someone's breaking one.

removing batteries is overrated. explosion-roulette is favourable

but it doesn't go off anyway even with power still connected. none of them do

Yeah, disconnecting the battery really isn't necessary IMO. Things like the Haynes manual only say to disconnect the power to stop you suing them if some freak accident happened.

I've removed and reconnected airbags quite a few times without disconnecting the battery and never had a problem.

Besides, if there was really a risk of these sorts of pyro charges going off when disconnecting them we'd have loads of horror stories about pre-tensioners firing when the infamously poor connectors start breaking up.

One of the pre-tensioners did blow in my old 306 for no reason whatsoever. I wasn't in it at the time but I got in it one morning and it had mysteriously gone off during the night. Blink

Also mate, remember to undo the bolt that holds the wheel on but leave it screwed in a few threads while u work the wheel loose. Otherwise you'll smash yourself in the face with a wheel. Been there and yes i did that.
