Need some new pads, and having a search, these two are the most reccomended! Its for a Ring trip and need I want something that doesn't fade and has a decent feel. If the Mintex will last 2 laps of the ring at a time without Fade then I will go for them as they are much cheaper! |

DS2500's.  ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. It said if you don't want to end up in here, stay away from crime, women and drugs. Trouble is, that don't leave you much else to do, does it? |

i am just about to have my mintex s taken out from my scoob as they are just too hard and are no good for local driving. I have had both sorts in the gti6 and liked the feel under foot of the mintex 1144 s. My discs are knackered, and these seem cheap for what they are. Probably be mated to 1144 Mintex front pads and some cheap rear pads that still do the job. Also, what fitment is £50?? Cheers, Sam |

Just get standard discs Sam. IMO grooved discs are a waste of money and will likely crack if you give them death________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. It said if you don't want to end up in here, stay away from crime, women and drugs. Trouble is, that don't leave you much else to do, does it? |

I'd stay away from drilled though, as they do crack around the holes as said. It is for the Wilwoods I paid £50 ish for the DS2500's. Much better pads than the "Smart pads" I had initially. The brakes C/W hoses, brackets and what ever's left of the pads maybe available when I come to sell the car as I'm likely to put it back to standard and sell the good bits separately. ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. Mintex 1144's or even 1155's if you are using the car for fast road use. Track/serious stick, use DS2500's. Standard Brembo vented discs will be fine for either scenario.________________________________________ Racing driver, fighter pilot, astronaut, compulsive liar. |

ds2500 last forever but outright braking power isnt as good as the mintex.when the 1155 on rallye die ima try the yellowstuff or RC6  |

I'm not a big believer in 'warped' discs. Pad build-up on the discs and uneven wear are much more likely to be the culprit behind vibration under braking. You'd have to get the discs to an astronomical temperature to actually warp them through normal use. ________________________________________ Rich |

i've got gti 6 brakes with 1155's and brembo disc's on my 205 and ive warppped the disc's. i did have 5 heads in an the car was taking serious abuse but am contemplating weather to skim the disc's up or buy sum grooved disc's?________________________________________ 178bhp 205gti6¼ mile in 14.2 |

That sounds much more likely to be pad build-up on the disc. Using a sintered pad such as the Carbone Lorraine's would probably bring them back but if you don't have a set already it would be cheaper to just get new discs. ________________________________________ Rich |

OK, so the best thing to do is stick with the standard Brembo discs as apposed to the MTEC Grooved discs. If I went MTEC I would go for Grooved/Dimpled and not the drilled discs. Does anyone know if you can get Performance Friction pads for a GTI-6? Got them on my bike and my other track car and they are amazing. Whats the cheapest place to get Brembo's and DS2500's by the way? |

Are the ones I want FCP565H?I've had Ferodo's before, and they were bloody good. Don't fancy splashing out on Carbone Lorraine and Performance Friction don't do pads for the 306 so my next best bet is probably Ferodo DS2500's. |
