I learnt in a 1.2 LPG corsa (all be it a few years back) the instructor (a friend of the family) paid around 2.5k for the conversion, but obviously he made the money back a lot quicker, but i would imagine it would be a lot less now. ________________________________________ Ex-Black 6 - Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... I thought it was Forest who had an LPG six.Mankee has never owned a GTI-6 or Rallye and certainly not an LPG equipped one (unless he bought and sold one while I wasn't looking!) ________________________________________ You didn't see anything. Right? |

Thought you SC boys got better MPG anyways? as long as you drive like a pussy and dont use the loud medal much.... kind of making a SC futile you are correct MPG is improved on steady drive staying off boost, however, what is the point in that! ________________________________________ |

you're looking approx £1500 to convert, we run astra vans with factory kits and get approx 35mpg on petrol and under 30 on gas. It would be a cheap fuel if it didn't burn out valve seats and knacker so many sensors. Ours run ok to 100k then its just hastle so much so we just run them on petrol now and make the most of the congestion charge exemption |

buys you a lot of petrol and if you think it has to cover only the saving in cost between the two fuels the payback is a long time. You also need to think about the systems that bung an additive in to stop it eating valve seats and really to my mind its only worth it on a new high consumption car |
