Put some cyclones on it,and if you want to do all that you might aswell put a 6 engine in it but people on here will tell you to sell it and buy a 6

there not that bad you dont hear of many people asking about them or moaning that they've broke, you could always stick the xsi 5 speed in the gti engine though

The boosted boys put 240bhp through them just fine mines done 93k it's still going strong give it a fair bit of abuse too. Have a friend that's put gti6 cams inlet mani full exhaust sys and a couple other bits didn't seem worth the trouble imo if your going to get it mapped with all the bits would help but after all the money and time spent might as well brought a 6.
stainless cat back and piper cross forced induction FTW. Thumbs up

Is it the MA gearbox in the XSI? In which case its much worse than the one in the GTI 6.

Yours is a phase 3 by the look of it. GTI 6 cams and inlet manifold apparently make a difference on the XSI. But for the cost and effort you really would be better off selling up and buying a 6.

I should elaborate on the fact I was an 11 year old with a push bike watching people with Xr4x4s and cossies hooked up to each other doing burnouts. Laugh

Not an MA box, MA boxes are on TU engines, 1.1 1.4 1.6 etc.

Imo get a gti 6 off here or on ebay for a grand in the same diablo colour. The money you would spend modding that alien car thing you call a (xsi) would buy you a 6 anyway. But good luck :-)
