Hi I've just bought a car with a decat and powerflow exhaust. Mot is coming up mid March so looking to fit a genuine CAT. Not sure what decat I have fitted at the moment. Can someone tell from the pics if a normal CAT will fit ok as a swap for the decat? Also will it sound rubbish with a normal CAT would I be better off just getting a standard cat and backbox?

you should have rearbox - pipe work - centerbox - cat/decat. that must be a nightmare to jack up!! the decat/cat is conected to you manifold down pipe but bolts with springs on at the front of the car b subframe. from the looks of that weld someone has made a home made decat . i may be wrongut that doesnt look like a normal decat pipe to me

Hmm interesting. I'll try and get some more photos tomorrow. I've got a mate that can do welding so will get him to double check it.

If it is a homemade decat would it be hard to fit a standard cat then? I'm thinking about just fitting a standard backbox and decat instead of just replacing the decat with a cat

Will need to cut the de-cat downpipe thats on now to fit a cat, then try and match the cat downpipe upto your exhaust systemUnsure

Got a mate coming round to check it tomorrow but I think its going to be best to just get a standard cat and backbox and sell the current one thats on there instead of getting a cat to fit

Yeah I wouldnt do that. I think I'm going to go for a complete standard exhaust or maybe standard and a different backbox.

The Cat cools the exhaust gas down.

the cat burns off all the unused fuel if you run a decat it just goes into your boxes and could re-ignite, i blew my standard exhaust to bits when i fitted decat, magnex decat and scorpion cat back is amazing system. get gussets welded on for added strength and your laughing
