Well I've now done 250 on this tank and I've still got between half and a quarter left.
Thats probably not far off a normal 6 and it could be improved, so stans right with what he said about the mpg

I dont want to be a tit too, but I have to say, I mainly (not only but mainly) use 1st, 3rd, and 6th gears. I'm no expert and dont know if it does any damage driving at 30mph in 5th gear but that's been done before on a long open 30mph road. Revs are still fairly high compared to my brothers Octavia VRS which has a very very low idle. As said previously I use an app and have the following stats for you all to enjoy:

As per my app "Fuel Mate Lite"
Since 9th October 2011 I've logged all my petrol top ups and it keeps track with a graph, and stats etc. I've even logged the place where the fuel was taken from (ie shell/sainsbury's etc)

So...

Since 9th Oct 2011 I have refilled 19 times (not always full tank).
Travelled 3697 miles
Used 530.98L of fuel
Average fuel price £1.311 per litre
Total fuel cost £696.32
Average fuel efficiency is currently 31.65mpg

I tend to travel 10 miles to, 10 miles from work 5 days a week which is a dual carridgeway. But I do have the odd spurt now and again (I'll be honest every day).

I'm happy with that. I get around 350-400 miles on a full tank. Most I've got was when I went to pugfest, even went up the hill a few times and got over 400miles on a full tank Smile

I can get roughly 380miles to a tank running 454bhp on Super High Boost if I drive it normally. Obviously, if I start to use the loud pedal the fuel starts to drain off at an alarming rate!

Thats what I love about the GTI 6 with these conversions - can remain a sensible, useable everyday run around yet capable of wasting all the modern factory hot hatch backs. Love it.LOL

Yes, it is one of the great qualities of the conversion. You can drive in economy mode and make excellent mpg, with the added benefit of having full power whenever you need it. Even most turbo'd cars today don't have this quality.

The ol' 1.9's aren't too bad on fuel!

I am currently monitoring my first full tank in the rallye for a long time...wish me luck. I think i've got 280 miles from it so far with 1/8th tank to go, so will probably be about the 300 mark. I have thought about changing the lambda sensor but as others have said, it's probably because my car doesn't get the chance to heat up, Why do gti-6 engines take so long to heat up!?

Chris, I know for a fact that I could rinse the tank in 100 miles if I was to drive in the foot to floor manner all the time. However, if you can "restrain" yourself....lol you will find that you can return impressive mpg when you need to, which I think is a great selling point of all the supercharger conversions that Lynx offers.

Stan.

It's true I've done 320 miles now and still have quarter of a tank, I couldnt drive about flat out in this for long unless I wanted to smash it anyway.
It's just the quick short blasts that I do here and there on the straights if it's a nice road surface and then it wouldnt take long to get into scary speeds, it's new to me at the mo but I can tell it will be good on fuel considering.

Yes, I guess you'll see the realistic mpg for definite when you have it properly mapped. Is it run in yet?

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH. I have just calculated my MPG. Filled up on 29/12/11 with 49.15 litres, after 293 miles i filled up with 50.97 litres....26.6mpg! I thought it was a bit shitter than my GTi 180.

Last summer we went across europe in mine, fully laden, a/c on etc etc, best tankfull was 43mpg. dropped to 27mpg round the Spa and the Ring. Average on a cruise was high 30's. That was sat at 75 - 80 most of the time.
