I am putting a VVT V6 from a late 2000 406 in to a project, I am using the standard manifolds and the 2 in to 1 section. I read on the internet about the later mr2 VVT which has these gause pre cats which can start to break up and with the vvt it does actully suck back it to the engine a bit at times which wrecks the engine, It says take off the exhaust and knock them out with a hammer and screwdriver.Just wondered if I should do the same with this v6 peugeot or could it cause other problems? Thanks Lee. |

can't see any issue with removing them, the twin Lambda's they have are before these and after the 3rd cat IIRC, will your vehicle need to pass emissions tests?________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Yes its going in a buggy just for racing so no emmisions tests. I am thinking with being used hard on rough terrain if the pre cats were ever going to break up they would under these conditions. Will I gain any performance removing them? Thanks Lee. |

I'd ditch the lot and use a proper manifold, this will gain a huge amount as the std stuff is rubbish________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

miles wrote: I'd ditch the lot and use a proper manifold, this will gain a huge amount as the std stuff is rubbish As with all of my projects its about £ or my time vrs performance, If it goes well as it did in the car I will be happy. What does a tubular manifold set up cost, about £500/600 then it would need to be modified, or about 2 days of my time plus materials. The other thing that worries me is I am using the standard ecu which I do not want to mess with (chips etc) what would happen to the torque curve if it had a performance manifold? the last thing I need is flat spots. Thanks Lee. |
