Would a xu10 be safe at 300-350bhp with a dp engineering decomp kit and standard internals?

Of course will have management and fueling sorted

cheers

How would it have standard internals on the bottom end if the compression ration was 8.3:1 as the thread title suggests??

Standard compression ratio on these is 10.8:1 Yes

If it's any help, I run forged internals in an XU10J4RS which is running a compression ratio of 8:1 and currently producing 454bhp, so it can be done. Smile

is that the blue 205 pal? that was built in 2008,using dp parts.

only thing that im not too sure on management , ive been looking at omex 600,

Id run a dp decomp kit to 8:3:1,welders nightmare manifold and gt28rs at 20 psi, external wastegate, ive got 2 zx volcane td boxes here which i could try but i may aswell use the 6 gearbox and flywheel and linkages from the gti6 ( which il buy the whole car, use the parts i need like fuel tank etc then sell the rest on here)

with out pistons and rods, bearings etc il b e saving at least £2k

300-350bhp 5 door zx volcane would be an alright sleeper

Right guys spoke to peiter at dp earlier and he gave me a list of what id need from them, turbo kit excluding the gt2871rs as i can get one cheaper elsewhere, i also spoke to a helpful lad at pug1off about the loom and emerald ecu id need, injectors and fpr from a 2002+ quickslver.

Cost ive added up including the gti6 for parts is £4800. Thats for 300-350 bhp with a comp ratio of 8:3:1 or 8:8:1, i was also told not to use the 6 speed box as its weak, so im going to sell that on and try something else, i have a couple of 306 and zx diesel boxes i might try but ratios might be shite.

List of what il need so far is

(gti6 donor car forSmile

Engine
driveshafts ( i have spares though)
flywheel
inlet mani and loom
front brakes
fuel tank as the zx will be diesel
fuel lines
and many other little bits but the rest will be sold on

Other parts:

Dp welders nightmare kit
38mm external wastegate with screamer
GT2871RS
Dp decomp kit to 8:3:1
ported head with 0.10 skim
paddle clutch
siemens injectors 600cc indeally
walbro 255 pump
3.5 bar fpr
2.5-3 bar map sensor
emerald ecu with custom loom, launch control and 7600rpm limit
large fmic with 2.5" boost pipes
3" turbo back exhaust with no boxes
new cambelt and water pump
magnecour kv8.5 leads
iridium plugs

and many other wee bits and bobs

Tonmorow im going to ring up a few more people for advice on what boost to run and what turbo/gearbox to have which would suit.

Id keep the xu10 in the gti6 but at 19 my insurance is only £1100 fc on a volcane, plus ive had a few zx's and 306 dturbos before and prefer the ugly quirckyness of the zx

cheers!

Bit luck of the draw really, you maybe lucky you may not as with any engine unless you start x-raying components you never know how good they are, I;ve blown up std 1.9 205's (Very similar XU Engine) and others with 250bhp are fine.

Having used a few ECU's now I'm converting back to Omex for simple mapping and better mapping points, Emerald's + is you can get it to run the 4 coil packs at the std cost compared to the Omex you need the 710 which yes costs a little more but you'll get this back on mapping costs unless you goto Emerald Direct.

Nice sleeper anyway, Be even better in a AX or deadly.
