Check all the fuses in the passenger compartment below the steering column....

Roll eyes

That is also another good suggestion....Test the pump by putting 12v directly to the top of it, and see if it runs. If it does, you know the pump itself is ok. Thumbs up

Its the relay attached to the rear of the battery box by a 8mm nut

hi, i bought a new relay that bolts to the back of the battery box and still no joy so ive removed the pump wired it to the battery and it works. ive tested voltage to the multi plug at the pump and im getting 6volts which obviously aint enough to make it run. wat else could it be?? ive pressed the fuel cut off switch next to battery and still no joy. is there a way i can by pass the fuel cut off switch to determin if this is at fault? thanks jay

You could take the plug off the fuel cut off switch and bridge it, this would test whether the switch is faulty.

Have you checked the fuses as I suggested??

Stan.

hi stan. yeh ive checked the fuses all where ok. ill do thatwith fuel cut off switch thanks.. and if still no go will check my earths and then wiring. just find it really strange that it was running whilst de-icing it then it died... i was possibly thinking water/snow in one of the connectors on the bottom side of the inner wing on passanger side and its frozen. will get a look at some point when finished christmas rush..

merry christmas to you all

well checked the earths and cleaned up connections and still no joy.

im getting 10.4volts at the connector to the pump when you 1st put ignition on. this stage will be it priming..

when i turn the car over im getting max out put 7volts to the connector and after say 3 seconds it has dropped down to 5volts..

this ia totally got me stumpped now and its not very often im stuck for ideas or things to check..

is there any where on this site or on the net i can get a wiring diagram for this 306 gti-6 so i can trace wiring from fuel pump back to the feed..

thanks jay
