hi guys, just wandered if anyone knew of anywhere that supplies rotors that would be a direct fit for a 406 with brembo's as i am after something lighter than the standard 305mm disc, cheers.________________________________________ 205 mi16405 Mi16x4 restoration project 406 v6 saloon track car project/daily driver 508 Hdi |

yeah, any shop that sells xantia/C5 288x28mm discs.seeing as that's what you need when they go on a 306, and they do weigh a little bit less than the 305's. unless you mean separate alloy bells and rotors? in which case the only kit I know of is Ash's Pendulum motorsport kits that need 17" wheels minimum. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

not surprised you'll almost certainly be looking at a custom arrangement for what you intend, might be a little tricky to make up as they have such a low offset (effectively zero, i.e the front face of the bell is flush with the rotor) ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

may just stick with the standard 305mm ones then (i suppose drilled an d grooved could shed a fiew grams ) plus i was looking for some pro race 1.2's and to get them to fit over the brembo;s i need 17" 7.5j! was hoping to use 16" 7j ________________________________________ 205 mi16405 Mi16x4 restoration project 406 v6 saloon track car project/daily driver 508 Hdi |

They aren't light but really suit any 406 imo i know, i was surprised too but have been told by several wheel suppliers that it is correct, i do love the looks of my starfish wheels but want to go as lightweight as i can (but limited by the wallet hence pro race rather than alleggera's which i wanted ) so now i need to decide wether to go down the brembo route and get 17" 7.5j td's or stick with the standard brakes and get some good discs and pads and go for some 16" 7j td's decisions decisions ________________________________________ 205 mi16405 Mi16x4 restoration project 406 v6 saloon track car project/daily driver 508 Hdi |

would think a 16" could fit ok, the caliper sits further away from the hub on the 406 (hence the larger disc) so should fit, though the lower disc offset may cause issues.I think this was an issue many coupe owners found when looking for aftermarket wheels, the 16" "starfish" wheels are ET12 BBS wheels. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

didn't realise they were that low (et12) the 16" td's are et16 so that is only 4mm difference________________________________________ 205 mi16405 Mi16x4 restoration project 406 v6 saloon track car project/daily driver 508 Hdi |

yup, even the 15 x 6.5's are ET12, all the other wheels for the Coupe are ET12, even the 16x7" steelies.225 might be a tad wide for a 7" rim ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I'm sure my 16" starfish alloys on the estate run 215 or 225s. Will check in the morning when its back. The 1.2s will be a lot lighter than anything standard in that size, if you can get them to fit. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

I run an ex btcc 406 coupe, with standard front wishbones and hubs.I looked long and hard for alloy bells for the car, and found a couple of options. Use the alloy bells from Ash's a kit that is designed for the 306 and 310mm discs.Problem here is that the disc offset is different, so you would need spacers inside the bells. Use ford cosworth bells, again the offset is wrong. I ended up using Focus RS discs (225mm) but these are quite heavy. Running 225 45 17 tyres on 7' rims, (225 is the max for 7' though, tried 235 45 and the tyre was deforming a bit to much) ________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

Not sure as I have never seen Ash's kit in the flesh, but I think here is about 5mm difference in disc offset betwean the 306 and 406.If you use a wheel with 5mm to 10mm less offset( ET 20-25 ish), then the spacer weight is usually cancelled out by the wheel being a bit lighter.( 5mm spacers are very light anyway) ________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |
