Right, the '6' has been sitting in the cold for a week and it appears the battery lost connection or something.Angry

(I say lost connection because it doesn't seem the battery was flat, it took a few attempts to start, and my initial thought was that it was mega flat as the car didn't even turn over ... maybe some belt or something was frozen, I dunno, but that's by the by ...)

So my radio now wants it's code, which of course I dont have.

After a search it seems the Phase 3 radios can't be simply deciphered and its going to cost me, but I just wanted to be sure as it's not clear whether this refers to all phase 3 radios or just the CD head units.

Mine is an early casette unit with a CD changer in the boot (PU2294A ??), so ...

1) Can I retrieve the code myself, if so how do I get the damn thing out, (I've searched this aswell) but I can't see any little holes at the bottom of the face to shove anything in, let alone a small flat screwdriver? Sad

2) If I'm going to have to pay someone, who?
Is it a Halfords job or Peugeot dealer only, or can any decent garage do this?

Cheers,
Dave

If it is the Clarion style phase 2 style casette unit, there is clips on the bottom, 2 knives should suffice LOL

I dont actually think you can see the slots IIRC, you just have to stick the knives between the stereo and dash facia and slide them about

Can be a twat to get out by all accounts

Try getting a photo

Cheers or that Vernam & Joe,

Apparently the code is in the bundle of receipts that came with the car, so I'll have a look for that. If nonlicknillnstick a picture up.

Either way, I'm in Birmingham all week so won't be able to get back to this until the weekend.

Cheers, Dave

Just set fire to the whole heap and buy a new stereo with the payout Thumbs up

The code is definately on that piece of paper Dave, I can see it now, the 20 quid I handed over for it (after unsuccessfully trying to decipher it myself using the above code workerouter Roll eyes ) burning it firmly into my memory.....
