4mm clear

are the rear quaters not formed? they will leak if not I was lead to beleive. but thats a pretty good price.

I had formed rears and they did leak a bit on the original fittings I'd advise poss having them hard fixed I mean how often do you open the rears anyway - also if you have the fronts on the original winders the air pressure at speed will stop you shutting the window as they bow out Wink

I was looking on the p4p site and once I'd spec'd them to how I want they cost £558.99 + delivery

Rears and quarters fair enough, but do *not* waste your money on the fronts.

Do what I did, buy the Lexan sheet from eBay, use an old window as a template and cut it out. I riveted mine in, but you could attach them any way you wish. £20 a side for the fronts that way, and as the edges are tucked in they look exactly the same.

Lexan isn't rigid enough to not leak on the rear quarters, so you'll have to bond them properly or they'll leak - same will probably go for the rear.

Fraid so. Bear in mind I used 3mm for the fronts, and they bend and flap all over the place. 4mm won't be that much stronger, I'd be extremely surprised if you could use the standard fixings and keep the rears watertight.

i have the p4p rears, formed, and they don't really leak much tbh

i've got the polycarb formed rear window, 2x side qtr windows formed, 2x front windows with circular 360degree popit vents

watertight is overrated. saving weight takes priority

I got my fronts from acw, 4mm clear sliders on both sides for £100 delivered and rears from p4p all 3 formed and bordered think it was 320 delivered, I never realized the standard price didn't include formed rear ¼'s til I ordered

im not bothered about being water tight as my car is garaged all year round or under the car port at least and it would only be at the track it would get wet as never on road if its raining.

may just go for the £325 quid spec form p4p if the guy gives me a sensible answer or if they even reply, really f*cks me off when people dont answer your emails, untill you send them a shitter of one!

anyone know the weight of a set of 4mm front windows?

Im assuming the 3mm ones are ~25% lighter (or does it not work like that?) and dont know whether to sacrifice a little weight for added stability.

Opinions?

Think my 3mm ones were about 2kg each so yes, 33% more than that. Mine'll still bend a fair bit, 4mm should bend a minimal amount.

Perspex would be pretty rigid, especially if 4mm thick but it's too fragile and stress cracks too easily. We're actually talking polycarb here, despite the thread title, which is more flexible but much harder to thermoform
