+1 There is nothing you're asking that has not already been covered here, keep your knickers on.

I'd have used an exclamation mark, but you've used up the UK quota.

I know my Phone at home is playing up thanks to VodaPhone (Mask fault) but at work it's fine.
Drop me a PM with your number and I'll give you a call,
I'm waiting on some joints over the next couple of days then the rods will be ready for shipping again

Re the GE shifter!!!!! bought one the other day just had it fitted by a qualified mech and it keeps slipping!!!!!!!! he's telling me that its sub-standard as in the size of the bolt!!!! and he doesnt want to tighten it more as he could snap it with his stare let alone tightening it anymore!!! its left on and im left with instructions just to pop the original back onto the original!!!! and take the actual part into the garage where he can enlarge the hole and but a stronger bolt in!!!! cant get hold of GE again to see what they say! any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! also regarding the metal gear rods I was put off the idea from the guy at GE because he said the they they were not needed on a gti6 and they were gonna cost me some £200 if he were to make me some and advised me to buy some normal ones from peugeot for about £7!!! im really at a loss here ffs!!! the mrs occasionally drives the car but what she gonna do if it slips?????????? grrr

A "qualifed mech"? Sounds like you need a new garage Wink

Funny how numerous members of the site with no mechanical education have fitted theirs with no problem, and your "qualified mech" has trouble Roll eyes

As for the linkages, no of course the GTI6 doesn't need them. Nor do they need lowered suspension, better tyres, stainless exhausts, better speakers, hard rubber mounts and bushes, solid rear beam mounts, the list goes on. The car is perfectly driveable without any of them. However we still fit these things to our cars as they make them that bit better to drive.

So he's right, no the GTI6 does not need them.
