As above really, noticed tonight evey time I press the clutch the brake lights come on, then when you let the pressure off slightly they go off again. From what I can figure out it's as if the pedal box is moving and the switch makes contact, only happens with the clutch as that requires more force to depress than the throttle.

Where are the mounting points for the pedal box? guessing there's a bolt or two through the bulkhead, am thinking maybe I took a nut off when removing the dash and forgot to pop it back on?

It'll just be a little of the force transfering through the pivots, a little WD might sort it for a short while but the problem probably lies with the brake light switch being a little worn - it wants winding out a bit.

It's fiddly but you can just get it from behind the steering wheel surround/clocks if you take them off.
