My gti6 starts up fine but doesnt tick over unless you keep your foot on the pedal, yet if you drive a few feet and stop it ticks over fine on its own? any ideas?

Moved to even a vaguely related forum.

And it's condensation in your idle control valve at a guess. Do a search for stepper motor in the FAQ.
