the rest of the kit looks fine, is the tensioner on the left for a vts or something?

I think that its a 137 tooth kit whereas the tensioner on the right is off a 136 tooth kit.... i'm sure someone will come along and correct me if i'm wrong! LOL

the one on the left will not fit. the kit was apparently for gti6/vts so is the tensioner for vts. the guide was the same tho

speaking to europarts this morning, the chap said there is two diffrent cambelt kits. 1 being self adjuster ie on the left in pic or manuall adjust. So hopefully the rest of the kit is ok...........

it wont be, the belts are a different length by one tooth.

As above, you need to take the kit back and get the 136 tooth kit.

well the belt was 136. the tensioner was wrong. i measured up the belt and was 136. now on the car and runing perfect. it looks like tensioner and belt were packed seperatly

the one on the left is for the 1.8 xsi engine. its the only engine that uses that tensioner. i found some info on it on the gates site a while ago.

seriously if this was the case how long would it take for this to happen. i did measure it up to the belt that came off up and matched tooth to tooth all the way round. or are you taking the p*ss cos you can use 137 or 136 tooth belt..............

Those tensioners are not bad really, the V6 uses them and never get changed until the 2nd belt around 145,000 miles, Saves sticking too much tension on the belt, But more hassle to fit on the 6 engine
