So i have put my Cat back on the SC Rallye ready for its MOT and its now running a bit odd.

Basically sealed it all up nicely so no leaks and all looks good. Took it for a nice drive and it feels really restricted, gets up to about 5k before stuttering. When it idles it also stutters every now and then Sad

Any ideas as to whats going on? It didnt do it last time i changed it over for the MOT Unsure

Cheers guys

Yep Yes If it had just happened over time then i would be certain it was the lambda but in this case it only happened after i put the cat on Dunno

Just noticed a minor few leaks, would they be enough to do it?

Gonna use some sealant to plug them, will do job?

may have damaged the wiring or connection to lambda when you were fiddling around?

You can't use exhaust paste before the cat but after will be fine.

Did it only happen when you put the cat back on or is it an ongoing issue?

If ongoing then it probably means the lambda is on the way out i would say.

tbh i wouldnt worry too much tom, they wont take it to 5k for emissions so wont invoke stuttering, just get it hot and to mot station, then take it off again when your home Thumbs up
Hopefully it will go back to normal Yes

Well thanks to the top guys at Pug they scraped it though the emissions test Yes Passed on everything else Smug Its amazing as once again i have done nothing to the car beforehand Smile

STill got issues with the stuttering but im pretty sure its something to do with a boost leak somewhere rather than the exhaust, will investigate this week.

Cheers all Thumbs up

well I started noticing it since I put the cat back on...

pug did a full diagnostics and didnt see/find anything (only I noticed that the pre-ignition is rather 'unstable')

hopefully you'll get yours sorted Wink

let us know what was/is causing it if you do!

Well i checked for boost leaks and that was all good, also replaced the cat with the decat so now its back to pre MOT spec, did it work?

No Sad Still sounds like a messasmit and drives like a car with the shits Doh

Im at the point where im going to start having to go through a massive checklist of possible things it could be but before i do its dawned on me that maybe Pug did something to the software while it was in for the orginal MOT (failed on exhaust emissions) as the troubles only started after that Yes Anyone got an idea if Pug might have played with something as part of their MOT procedure?

Cheers all :thumsup

Oh and cheers for the heads up Mabs but i wasnt around this morning sadly Sad
