Ok so looking to get some new tyres as mine are pretty old now the fronts are legal but the rears are dead.

So i had a search on tinterweb and spoox are doing to eagle f1 gsd3 for £58 a corner in a 50 profile. i also found a website that would do prada spec 2's for £48.50 a corner delivered in the 50 profile.

So which ones would you guys go for? or should i just move the fronts to the rear and buy 2 F1 gsd3 in a 55 profile for £72.50 a corner? money is a factor as im skint.

oh and the tyres on the car are just budgets as they guy who owned it before me was obviously a tight ass

id go for the yoko parada and phone they people direct prob do a better price than the advertised £160 plus £15 delivery

Uniroyal Rainsport 2's mate, i swear by 'em now. I got four delivered for £130 and managed to get an indie garage to fit them for £40.

As good as most road tyres in the dry, and exceptional in the wet. They look quite sexy too if tread pattern is a deciding factor LOL

Costco do them at £54 fitted if you can get in there, or camskill do them at £52 each.

I have heard good things about the rainsport 2's but the car never goes out in the rain. I have a couple of options with the prada 2's to look into. The reviews i have read have all said these are great in the dry just not that good in the wet and wear quick but the car doesn't go out often and never in the wet so neither of those are an issue.

Personally i think the RS2's are a better tyre than the likes of Parada S2's and T1R's. They're comparable to the Michelin PE2 in terms of all-round performance.

they are pretty cheap on that site. i think i will bookmark them Smile the rainsports are out of stock but not suprising at that price!

I know, they were bargainous, seem to be in pretty high demand at the minute!

They definitely have my vote anyway, even the price on the Parada's etc is pretty competitive

especially now its getting colder and wetter, avoid at all costs.

i have PE2 at the moment and they are quite good, sidewalls a lil soft for my liking but a more than capable tyre.
just go for whatever you can afford fella.
altough if you can source some rainsports then id be inclined to try them this season. Yes

You won't find Goodyear Eagles in 15" any more. Goodyear stopped making them smaller than 16" around 18 months ago.

The Exalto PE2 seems to be the weapon of choice for people running 15's now but if I were in the market for new boots in 15" I'd go for the outsider's bet with Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response

I'm running PE2's after searching the site and have to say a good tyre, was running T1R's which were ok in the dry but wet weather was "fun". I'll be using PE2's from now on.

Don't touch the paradas, I ran them after I could no longer find the F1 GSD3's and I can honestly say that they actually felt dangerous when wet, extremely poor in anything other than bone dry warm conditions.
I'm running the Michelin PE2's now and they are a very good buy IMO.

PE2s are also very light weight and last very well. Run slightly higher pressures than before to overcome to softer sidewall. Rainsports are good too but I prefered the PE2 tbh.

Another random - I have Vredstein Ultrac on the impreza and they aren't half bad either. Certainly better than T1Rs.

I'm a great believer in BF Goodrich Profilers if you can get hold of them Mark. They were superb.

Eagle F1s are massively superior to T1Rs in the dry and wet (on the 306 although i've found them better with other cars too), but especially the wet. I ran a few sets of T1Rs and having seen the difference with eagle F1s i'm amazed they get such a good write up (I think it's because they're 'ok' and easily available/ cheap. 'Goodyear Assymetrics' replaced the GSD3s by the way.

Would also commend Khumo KH-31s as a cheap-ish option. A few of the lotus guys run them, and having not touched Khumo previously, we've just got a full set on the missus's car and they're great. Stiff sidewalls for cornering too.

It's because the majority of people that buy them are your typical car park bams that think because they have a pretty tread pattern they're amazing.

Combine the aesthetics with the fact that the cars they're fitted to rarely have more than 75bhp and you can see why they're loved so much.

Going to throw in another vote for Rainsport's. Got a set last month from the aformentioned site and they're excellect from what I've felt so far. Good value for money too...


I bought mine to replace 30k mile old P6000's though so I guess it's a moot point: rubber bands would have been a marked improvement! LOL
